2010 Western Captive Round-Up Showcases the
Power of Collaboration

By all accounts from attendees and the two sponsoring associations of the 2010 Western Captive Round-Up, this year’s event was a resounding success! This regional event was planned by the Western Region Captive Insurance Conference, a collaboration of THC client the Arizona Captive Insurance Association (AzCIA) as well as the Utah Captive Insurance Association (UCIA).  The Round-Up marked the first ever regional captive insurance conference in the country.  Held at the historic Arizona Biltmore on April 5-8, the conference attracted over 160 attendees from 27 states and three foreign countries, four western domicile regulators (AZ, UT, MO, MT), 39 captive owners/risk managers, and a full exhibit hall and sponsorship list.  Complete conference information, including presentations, attendee lists, sponsors and exhibitors, is available here.

Case Study: How Associations Can Partner for Success

The current economic recession—and slow recovery—prompted AzCIA and UCIA to form the Western Region Captive Insurance Conference to their mutual benefit.  The result?  An excellent example of the power of collaboration in maximizing association resources.
