Harrington Company President John Francis Elected President of Association Management Company Institute
After successfully completing four years on the board of directors of the Association Management Company Institute (AMC Institute) and serving terms as its secretary-treasurer, vice president, and president elect, John Francis has been elected the trade association’s president.
In his first speech as president at the annual AMC Institute conference, held this year in New Orleans, La., John outlined his goals for his presidency. During his term, he will focus on expanding favorable awareness and market opportunities, as well as improving best practices and operating ratios, for AMC Institute members. These goals align with steps outlined in the AMC Institute’s strategies to promote the AMC model and foster the growth of AMC Institute members.
In the months since his presidency began in February 2008, John has already represented the AMC Institute—as well as The Harrington Company—at the 1st International AMC Institute Regional Forum and the 2008 IMEX, both in Frankfurt, Germany.
In a recent article he wrote for Association Trends magazine, John stated that “AMC Institute’s focus on building the positive image of the AMC model and improving best practices has paid great dividends—both externally and internally—as the AMC industry grows and AMCs continue to have impact in the nonprofit arena.” John welcomes what he views as the opportunity to give back to, and hopefully shape, the industry during his presidency.
Francis’ term will run from 2008-2009.
